Food

If your child is in the 2.5 – 3.5 year age group please provide SOFT fruit daily –e.g. oranges, mandarins, bananas and other seasonal soft fruit.  Once your child is past 3.5 years please provide any fruit of your choice including apples and carrots.  (Refer to Ministry of Health choking document)

Each child also needs a NAMED, easy to open drink bottle with water only. For lunch, please provide HEALTHY finger food options. Please ensure that your child’s lunchbox and any other food containers are easy for them to open BY THEMSELVES.

Learning Journals

When your child enrols with us, we will provide you with a large scrapbook which will become your child's learning journal. We will use this journal to record learning stories / observations & collect artwork. We encourage you to add to your child's book regularly and we love to discuss your child's learning progress with you. We work together with you as the parents to foster, extend and develop your child's learning through their interests.

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays with your child. Generally for a third birthday, we sing happy birthday and light the candles on our pretty preschool artificial cake; for 4th birthday we do the same and often a small treat is provided from home; for the 5th birthday our children sit on the birthday chair; have a real cake from home and enjoy a gift or two from preschool.  If you would like to provide treats, we suggest one of the following options – mini cupcakes, cookies, pencils, & stickers. Please NO popcorn, lollipops/hard lollies as they are a choking hazard. Some children have allergies that excludes them from eating some of our treats, so please be sensitive in your consideration of this

Clothing

Please dress your child in clothing that they are permitted to get messy in. Please NAME all clothing. We expect the use of hats in terms 1 and 4. Please include spare clothing, gumboots and extra warm clothes appropriate for the cooler months.
